An article in the Indianapolis Business Journal chronicles the story of a couple who moved from
Chicago’s northern suburbs to Carmel, Indiana. Not surprisingly, they are finding that their dollars go a lot further in central Indiana in everything from housing to daycare to taxes.
Along with their story, the article shares the good news that Indiana is now second in the nation for personal income growth and Indianapolis ranks 86 out of 381 cities. The U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis is now factoring in the cost of living when creating the rankings for personal income.
